Every Year on 19th of June reading day is conducted all over India in remembrance to the Late Sri P. N Panicker who is known as father of the public library movement of Kerala. As part of the reading day celebration, Bodhi reader’s club and Ektha club jointly organized a Reading day programme on 20/06/2022 (Monday). The Manager of the Holy Cross College Sr Lincy Cherian inaugurated the function and gave a message on the importance of reading in the present era of the world of information. Principal Dr Sr Shiny George gave the presidential address to the event. The highlight of the function was the chief guest Father Bobby Jose Kattikadu, who is an author of various books, speaker and the director of the Theo publications. Chief Guest launched a new programme of the library “My Birthday Book”. The function was felicitated by Vijeesh M (Librarian) and Mohammad Razi P (BA Economics, Students representative). 

A live interactive session for students with chief guest Father Bobby Jose Kattikadu was conducted after the inaugural function. The students actively participated in the interactive session as Father Bobby Jose Kattikadu explained about the importance of reading in our daily life by giving many examples and also explained about Metaphor and guided the students to find the Metaphor of their life. The session ended up nicely as Father Bobby Jose Kattikadu patiently cleared all the doubts asked by the students and also by the staff.
